SEO Services for 2013 - New York Expert Consultant

I am an accomplished article author on dozens of subjects, with my work reproduced throughout the Internet.

Trusting your Search Engine Optimization to a person who earns on the Internet himself makes sense. You can't learn this stuff in school. At least not as much as someone who has been "in it" for over 10 years.

I know what works and what does not.

I am not a designer or programmer. I am an SEO consultant. I prefer to work with mid to large size companies with an IT department already in place, where my vision and my work can be implemented quickly and effectively. I can also be of great value to website hosting or design companies that need additional Search Engine Optimization expertise. I can train new employees. I can also work with small companies that have a full time webmaster.

I can work from my office or I can consult with you on-site, as you need it.

My customers earn 10-100 times more in additional income and web exposure above what they ever pay me. I'm VERY glad for that. I'm someone you should talk to if your competitors are beating you on FREE search traffic - The only TRUE search traffic. Let me be your "ringer".

Links in sentences - keywords internal links SEO

Hello All and welcome to your subscribed SEO Tips Email. We received a lot of questions related to our topic today.

"How do I get ALL of my pages to rank well - not just my home page?"

Well, one great way to do this is to have all of your pages linked together. When you click on a page on your site, you want all of your pages to still be available to click to.

LINKING WITHIN SENTENCES

When writing copy on your home page or other page and you want an updated or important page to be read, put a keyword link in a sentence that is a link to the page you want to promote.

Ex:  We have a new promotion from our Houston Home Inspection Company for our customers who need a house inspector report this week!

Linking like this is natural and creates an opportunity to use your keywords to create maximum effect. When you are writing articles and blog posts, you should use this method often. Google will give more credit for natural writing with links vs. depending on just your navigation bar. It shows search engines, that THIS page you are linking to is important and you get keyword benefit. TRY IT!

Need a promotion, event or announcement seen by thousands of people that could be potential customers?

Use what I and many of my clients use:

MAGIC SUBMITTER - Auto press release service. Reach blogs, news feeds and Google FAST!  Much more than you can do your own. Very inexpensive and a good free video and page to see.

Thank You

SEO Tip - Overusing Keywords Hurts Google Ranking

Vol. 40

Hello All!  Been a few weeks and I hope you all enjoyed your summer!  Welcome to your subscribed SEO Search Engine Optimization Tips Newsletter from  Nick's SEO World

Today's topic is HUGE!   OVER-USING KEYWORDS TO "TRY" and GET HIGH RANKING!

SO many times I see websites that either had SEO done on them by an outside source or it was done by themselves where they stuff their keywords in so heavy and they wonder "where is my site on Google rankings now?" They don't realize the harm this does. Mainly :

Google knocks your site down

It reads terribly

Either way - it hurts your site. Go on Google and type in "Austin Attorney" or anything you want. Notice the results. The top page does not have sites that say: " top Austin Attorney and Best Austin Law Firm for all Austin Texas Attorney needs" in the search results or in the first sentence of their website. And if they do, they tone it down on the the rest of the first page. Go to page 50 or 100 on Google results and you'll see some sites like that. Go to page 300 and you'll see even more. THOSE DAYS ARE OVER

Also, like I mentioned - it reads terribly!  You want people to not only land on your site. You want them to stay on it a while. Don't spam them! Google will penalize you as well. It's a LOSE LOSE

The key is balance!

If you are not using an SEO expert, then please write your copy naturally with a list of your keywords in front of you. Google will think you are a real site and your users will appreciate that you are not just writing the same words for search engine purposes.

EMAIL MARKETING

You need to start building your list and keeping them informed on your products and promotions. There are terrific companies out there that will manage everything for you. You simply put an email sign up button on your website and the list is gathered hour by hour, day by day and the list can just grow and grow.

There is simply no other way that is this effective for getting your customers to see your company's face when you want them to see it -Minus pouring gobs of money to Google with Pay Per Click Programs. Yes, adwords has it's purpose and we will be talking about that in the next few weeks - so look out for that one!  Will save you money and time. Social Media Marketing Article

Social Media Marketing, Truth and Lies
By Sloan Bax

Social Media Marketing seems to be the latest buzz word for anyone looking to increase their online presence and sales, but is Social Media Marketing (SMM) all it is cracked up to be?

S.M.M companies are now springing up all over the place these days and they are telling anyone that will listen about how incredibly important social media like Facebook twitter and YouTube are to your business but, for the average small to medium sized business, does marketing to social networks really live up to all the hype? Is spending a small fortune on hiring a SMM company really worth it? And has anyone really done their research on this before they hired someone to set up there Facebook business page? Some SMM companies are setting up things like Facebook business pages (which are free) for $600 to $1,000 or more and telling their clients that they don't need a website because Facebook is the biggest social network in the world and everybody has a Facebook account. Now while it may be true that Facebook is the largest social network in the world and yes, Facebook's members are potential consumers, the real question is are they actually buying? Social media marketing companies are all too happy to point out the positives of social media like how many people use Facebook or how many tweets were sent out last year and how many people watch YouTube videos etc. but are you getting the full picture? I once sat next to a SMM "expert" at a business seminar who was spruiking to anyone who came within earshot about the amazing benefits of setting up a Facebook business page for small business (with him of course) and selling on Facebook. So, intrigued by the aforementioned "experts" advice I looked him up on Facebook only to find he had only 11 Facebook friends (not a good start). So being the research nut that I am, I decided to take a good look into SMM in regard to selling to see if it actually worked, who did it work for and if it did why did Social Media Marketing work for them? And should business rely so heavily on social networks for sales?

As a web developer I was constantly (and now increasingly) confronted with several social networking challenges when potential clients would say that having a website sounds good but they had a Facebook business page and had been told by various sources (the ever present yet anonymous "they") that social networks were the thing to do, but after discussing their needs it became quite clear that those potential clients didn't actually know why they needed social networks or SMM to generate online sales, They just wanted it. For small and medium sized business I always recommended building a quality website over any type of social network, why? Well it's simple really because social media is Social Media, and social Networks are Social Networks they are not business media and business networks (that would be more like LinkedIn). I know that sounds simple but it's true and the statistics back it up. The fact is that social media marketing fails to tell you that Facebook is a social network not a search engine and despite the number of Facebook users and Google users being around the same, people don't use Facebook in the same way that they use a search engine like Google (which has around half the search engine market), Yahoo and Bing to search for business or products. They use it to keep in touch with family and friends or for news and entertainment. In a recent study done by the IBM Institute for Business Value around 55% of all social media users stated that they do not engage with brands over social media at all and only around 23% actually purposefully use social media to interact with brands. Now out of all the people who do use social media and who do interact with brands whether purposefully or not, the majority (66%) say they need to feel a company is communicating honestly before they will interact.

Grow your business with email marketing

So how do you use social media marketing? And is it even worth doing?

Well first of all I would say that having a well optimized website is still going to bring you far more business that social media in most cases especially if you are a small to medium sized local business because far more people are going to type in "hairdresser Port Macquarie" into a search engine like Google, Yahoo and Bing than they ever will on any Social Media Site and if you don't have a website you're missing out on all of that potential business. However despite all the (not so good) statistics I still think it is still a good idea for business to use social media just not in the same way that a lot of SMM professionals are today, Why? Because it's clearly not working in the way they claim it does. Basically SMM Companies and Business as a whole looked at social networks like Facebook as a fresh market ripe for the picking and when Facebook started getting users measured by the millions PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel invested US$500,000 for 7% of the company (in June 2004) and since them a few venture capital firms have made investments into Facebook and in October 2007, Microsoft announced that it had purchased a 1.6% share of Facebook for $240 million. However since Facebook's humble beginnings up until now (2012) both SMM Companies and Business have failed to truly capitalise on the huge number of Facebook users online. The truth is numbers does not equal buyers. Is it in a Social Media Marketing company's best interest to talk social networks up? Absolutely. Is it in a Social Network like Facebook's best interests for people to believe that companies can sell en masse by advertising and marketing with them? Of course it is. In early 2012, Facebook disclosed that its profits had jumped 65% to $1 billion in the previous year as its revenue which is mainly from advertising had jumped almost 90% to $3.71 billion so clearly the concept of SMM is working out for them but it is working out for you? Well... statistically no, but that does not necessarily mean that it never will.

I believe the major difference between social networks and search engines is intent. People who use Google are deliberately searching for something so if they do a search for hairdressers that's what they are looking for at that particular time. With something like Facebook the primary intent is usually to connect with friends and family. In October 2008, Mark Zuckerberg himself said "I don't think social networks can be monetized in the same way that search (Search Engines) did... In three years from now we have to figure out what the optimum model is. But that is not our primary focus today". One of the biggest problems business face with social networks and SMM is perception. According to the IBM Institute for Business Value study there were "significant gaps between what businesses think consumers care about and what consumers say they want from their social media interactions with companies." For example in today's society people are not just going to hand you over there recommendations, Facebook likes, comments or details without getting something back for it, so the old adage "what's in it for me?" comes into play. So the primary reason most people give for interacting with brands or business on social media is to receive discounts, yet the brands and business themselves think the main reason people interact with them on social media is to learn about new products. For brands and business receiving discounts only ranks 12th on their list of reasons why people interact with them. Most businesses believe social media will increase advocacy, but only 38 % of consumers agree.

Companies need to find more innovative ways to connect with social media if they want to see some sort of result from it. There were some good initiatives shown in the IBM study of companies that had gotten some sort of a handle on how to use social media to their advantage, keeping in mind that when asked what they do when they interact with businesses or brands via social media, consumers list "getting discounts or coupons" and "purchasing products and services" as the top two activities, respectively a U.S ice cream company called Cold Stone Creamery offered discounts on their products on their Facebook page. Alternatively there is a great program launched by Best Buys in the U.S called Twelpforce where employees can respond to customer's questions via Twitter. With both Cold Stone Creamery and Twelpforce the benefit is clearly in the favour of the potential customer & the great trick to social media marketing is to sell without trying to sell (or looking like your selling) unfortunately most social media marketing is focused the wrong way.

Building a tangible buyer to consumer relationship via social media is not easy and probably the most benefit to business' using social media to boost their websites Google rankings. But business' need to understand that you can't just setup a Facebook business page and hope for the best. SMM requires effort and potential customers need to see value in what you have to offer via your social media efforts give them something worth their social interaction and time and then you may get better results.

Now just as a footnote Facebook shares have dropped to under $20 per share, that's half their original price... and the lawsuits are flying

SEO Tip - Make a Bang! with your online promotions and announcements

The following is a copy of our SEO Tips Email sent to our subscribers. If you're not on the list - join up it's free (sign up on bottom!)

Vol 39

Hello all!  Welcome to your subscribed SEO Tips Email. For those who were on the list for last week's SEO Email regarding Facebook Promotion - I hope you got started with the Tips you got.   If you missed it - go to our Nick's SEO World Site for our Recent SEO Tips Newsletters   We had some real good suggestions for getting the most out of FB Marketing.

Make a Bang With Your Announcements!

One of the things I'm very often asked (in one way or another) when customers use me for SEO consulting is "How Do I Get Maximum Exposure For My New Announcements and Promotions?"

Great Question!  You have a new product - You just redesigned your website - You are offering a new promotion.....

How do we get the word out and even have Google rank the announcement?  IT CAN BE DONE

Your website itself is not good enough for these announcements. Most likely, your natural traffic is not going to "cut it". YOU NEED OTHER SITES and Working Together.

Thankfully, Linked In, Twitter, Facebook and Blogger are working together more and more - You need to be active in them and share them together. Still, how to get ranking on Google - as a "news story"? 2 keys are video and press releases. I have produced both and use them, but you want to consider having them automated. Thankfully there are systems that will do that - along with social media postings.

I use "Magic Submitter" for many of my announcements and for my clients. It's pretty terrific and I have seen my releases rank on top of Google   and Bang! - I'm noticed.  Dozens of Big Sites with MY Promo. My Site gets a lot more traffic as well when it hits!

Our sister site www.runawebbusiness.com  has a page which you should VIEW HERE:     Magic Submitter   - free 2 month money back guarantee this week.  Try to give it a good look and watch the video!

All the best!

Facebook Marketing - Using Facebook Promotions

Welcome to your subscribed SEO TIPS Notification from Nick's SEO World

I have been getting a lot of emails asking me to talk about using Facebook to it's maximum benefit for SEO and Online marketing for your Website. And why not? Facebook, as many of you know is the most popular website in the world. Yes social media goes beyond FB, but if you are trying to work a dozen Social Media sites at once, it normally does not produce the results you need.

The best way to Social Media Market is to work the top 2 or 3 sites you use or are comforable with and REALLY USE THEM!

In the coming weeks we will talk about other sites (Linked In, Twitter etc), but Facebook is the tops for most people. The big thing about Facebook is the amount of time their average user stays on the site. It's pretty incredible. Almost 3 times as long as the other social media sites combined! And users may climb to 1 billion by the end of the year. Yes - 1 billion users!

Best Ways To Use Facebook

* Start a company page and invite your personal contacts to "like"

* Fill out the profile information thoroughly with links to your site(s)

* Add the site to your personal profile on Facebook (your personal page)

* Start a Facebook Ad Campaign - You can choose your budget and it gives great statisitics and increases your "likes" in a hurry. This is especially important in the beginning as many users don't "like" pages if there are only a few people who have in the past. Try to get to a 100 quick.

* "Like" popular pages that are useful to your company. The more popular the page, the bigger exposure you will get when you post on that page.

* Go to Linked in and Join groups. Some of them have topics asking others to "like" their page and they will "like" yours. A great way to get them fast!

* Post daily. Facebook is updates almost to the minute by Google, so each post with a link to your site or a site you are promoting is read fast!

The Difference Between SEO Writers and Content Providers

By Dan Edgar

Although they may sound similar, SEO content providers and SEO writers are actually quite different in practice when it comes to search engine optimization. While it's true that they both provide valuable services to website owners or similar, there's actually one main area where the two are completely different - and it's in the name itself. Whereas SEO writers will generally write articles for a website or blog, SEO content providers will also look at the overall SEO of a website to maximize its SEO visibility.

Writing SEO

To really understand the difference, you need to know what an SEO writer is. Whether it's for their own website or blog, or creating articles for a client's website, blog or even article directory like EzineArticles.com, an SEO writer usually only writes keyword rich articles. That's not to lessen their worth - far from it, since SEO writers need to know how to distribute keywords effectively throughout their articles.

However, SEO writing is completely different from SEO content writing - after all, an article for a website or submission site can be on pretty much any topic that the writer or client wishes. It may be that the writer wishes to be known as an expert on a certain niche, so they write keyword rich articles to place on their blog or similar. Nothing wrong with this at all - but it's a far cry from being an SEO content provider.

The SEO Content Provider Difference

While a good SEO writer may make for a decent SEO content provider, a decent SEO content provider will always make for a good (if not excellent) SEO writer. This isn't said from a "mightier than thou" position either - it's simple writing economics.

This is down to the different and more expansive roles that an SEO content provider has to fill. Not only do they need to provide strong, keyword rich and SEO-friendly articles and content, they also need to:

Enhance the overall SEO of the website in question
Work in conjunction with the website's URL and meta tags for increased SEO performance
Constantly provide fresh and relevant content to maintain SEO performance and visibility
Be aware of the competition's SEO and marketing methods
Combine the SEO potential of website and complementary blog(s)
When you take into account the various roles that an SEO content provider brings to the online marketing table, you can see why there's a vast difference between top SEO writers and top SEO content providers. Agreed, they both have their places and will continue to do so. However, to truly maximize your online visibility and presence there's no competition - while an SEO writer will give you good keyword articles, for maximum results you need to look at using the services of dedicated SEO content providers and consultants.

SEO Content Providers has but one goal - to provide affordable, high quality SEO content for websites and blogs. Whether you're an individual, professional or business you can be sure that your SEO content projects are handled professionally and punctually. Choose us for your next project and see for yourself the SEO Content Providers difference.

Google Adwords vs. Adcenter

Nick's SEO Tips - Adwords vs. Adcenter

Hello all! Welcome to your subscribed Nick's SEO World Tips Newsletter.

The last few editions focused on core SEO techniques, which we will always get back to. But this edition focuses on Google Adwords and Microsoft's Ad Center Pay Per Click Programs. By the way, our past Search Engine Newsletters are always available on our SEO BLOG

Today's Topic: Google ADWORDS and Microsoft ADCENTER - Which Pay Per Click Program is best for you.

Most website owners will use pay per click programs to generate traffic to their website. Many do not realize there are other choices beyond Google Adwords.

Nothing should ever replace wording your site correctly and building a search friendly site from within but using Pay Per Click programs can guarantee you traffic. The problem is Cost and Sales Conversion - which is vital

2 Main PPC Providers: Adwords and Adcenter

Most site owners use Google Adwords as they either heard of it or saw the ads appear on Google's search engine. Since Google is more used than microsoft's Bing (where adcenter ads appear), that makes sense.

Here is the basic breakdown of the 2

Adwords

Ads shown in more places

Keyword tool and analysis is more comprehensive. This allows for use in creating good SEO copy for your site and to research new ideas and demand for certain words.

Bidding more expensive

Page and ad approval more difficult than adcenter

Adcenter

Easier interface

Ads approved faster

Lower cost per click

Keyword tool less comprehensive

Less traffic

All in all, both should be used, but keep your budgets low and ALWAYS focus on your core search engine optimization on your site FIRST.

Microsoft Ad Center vs. Google Adwords Traffic

While proper and true Search Engine Optimization - SEO is the key to long term free website traffic, most website owners (rightly) will use pay per click programs. Most default to Adwords but Microsoft's program is gaining popularity to assist a website with more traffic - in addition to the visitors it gets via traditional SEO.

I personally have found the Adcenter program easier to work with and less strict on the landing page and ad approval process. The landing page is the page that the user goes to when clicking your paid ad. Last year Google started re-evaluating landing pages and disapproving many of my pages and my customer's pages as "poor" content - when previously they were approved fine. This resulted in less clicks and less traffic.

Cost and bidding for adwords and adcenter

While Google adwords gives more exposure since their search engine is still more popular - it is more expensive. More competition and more costly bidding. Microsoft's adcenter cost and bidding provides a good balance in ad campaigns for my websites and the clients I work with. I get good traffic from both, but the cost of adwords has forced me to ease back a little.

I also find Ad center's user interface and campaign management easier to work with vs. Google adwords.

Consider the Adcenter option. The set up is free and you can set your budgets low to start. I think you will find it easier to work with than Adwords and save some money as well.

Problem is - Many website owners try to do a little of them all and not truly work what each one can do for you and then get frustrated.

Too many social media sites for too many uses to squeeze in on one SEO Tip Letter. I consider social media as SEM (search engine marketing) as opposed to SEO (search engine optimization). The latter is the correct structure of your site so it is "optimized" for a high ranking based on what is in the site itself - your content. SEM is your external marketing.

TOPIC: Linked in

Linked in is one of my favorite sites for self promotion, website traffic, alliances and more. Now, most of you have heard of it. Most may even be on it....but are you REALLY using it. A few subscribers to my list asked me to address social media and in particular - linked in and getting the most out of it..
.
Linked in is a site that allows you to "connect" with other professionals and profile yourself and business. I happen to love it and
one I concentrate on. Tips for SEO/SEM on linked in are:

#1 Join it - if you haven't already

#2 Find people you know first and send a connection request

#3 Connect with as many people as you can (I accept 90% of the requests I get). It kinda snowballs after a while. "...and he told 2 friends and he told 2 friends and so on...and so on...." It's not like FB where you feel you have to be buddies. This is businesss! I say request out and accept in as much as you can.

#4 Join a group. There are dozens of groups that you can join within linked in. These are really good for not only making connections, but for driving traffic, as Linked In is a very high ranking Google site, so any comment you make or topic you discuss or even create has a good shot at being ranked on Google and showing up. Not to mention your inbox may deliver some business to you from another group member who
either liked your post or could use your service.

Example: You join a group "e marketers", (which is a real group and I am in it btw) and there is a topic discussing "web design" (assuming that's your business), your reply could be worded SEO friendly for your self, while adding good conversation to the discussion. Example of what you could write could be: "In my website design business in Pittsburgh, we see customers who....." and so on. That sentence, because it's worded SEO friendly and it is on a very popoular site that is indexed every day, if not several times a day by Google - could give you a big lift if someone types in "Web Designer Pittsburgh". Plus, Linked in allows you to have a link to your site on your replies and allowed in most groups.

5. Join a group with a lot of members to start. Some have 40, some have 9,000 members. Go big and you'll be seen more, plus there are more active discussions going on in popular groups which is is better for Google ranking for you and a higher chance to gain customers via
networking.

Work it

Like all social media - don't just join linked in, twitter or make a company Facebook page. Truly work them. Social media and Internet groups will only work if you concentrate on each one and if you are just working for yourself, joining 10 social media sites will do little. Use Linked in, Facebook and Twitter to start or any 2 or 3 you are comfortable with that have a lot of members - and I'm talking millions. Go with the most popular first. More visitors to those sites, the more eyeballs on yours!
